OUR CLASSES

★ Little Dancers

Our Little Dancers classes are especially for the (cutest!) little people from two and a half to five years. Watch them grow by taking their first steps in Irish dance, Jazz, Ballet, and Tap.

★ Jazz Classes

Jazz classes for boys and girls are always a favourite, so why not bring out your child’s inner performer? Grow their stage confidence and self-esteem as they connect with like-minded others in an environment where they’re encouraged to be their best.

★ Ballet Classes

Engage your child with classical Ballet classes that captivate the imagination of aspiring dancers. Offering classes from Little Dancer to RAD Grade 7, we’ll support your child on their dance journey.

★ Tap Classes

Enjoy watching your child develop an appreciation for rhythm, music, and sound through Tap classes delivered by teachers with a genuine love of dance and kids. We’ll support your child to stay active doing something they love.

★ Contemporary Dance Classes

Watch your child learn to express feeling and emotion through Contemporary dance classes delivered by teachers with experience in nurturing young people to grow.

★ Hip Hop

Marshall your child’s drive and energy with our dynamic Hip Hop dance classes for kids. Ideal for boys and girls, they’ll be ready to bring it with attitude.

★ Irish Dance Classes

The music, steps, and colour of Irish dancing make it a popular choice of parents choosing dance classes for kids. With a choice of Little Dancers through to competition dance classes available, we’d love to share our passion with you.

★ Acrobatics

We’re excited to be offering acrobatics to children from 2 years of age. Under the experienced hand of our teachers (who are certified to teach acrobatics), your child will develop teamwork and confidence in a class that is highly energetic and loads of fun. Join in the momentum of this sport which is quickly growing in popularity.

ABOUT US

Established nearly two decades, and built on the dance and 30 plus years of academic teaching experience of our founder and director, Clare Michelsen CM Dance is a dance school where kids of all ages, shapes, sizes, and ability learn to dance and perform.

Recognising the need for a Brisbane dance school with a holistic approach to teaching dance, Clare started CM Dance, offering Irish and [other] lessons. Since those first classes, CM dance has grown, both in size and in the range of dance styles taught at its two studio locations in Coorparoo and Camp Hill.

Our Philosophy

When asked about CM Dance, we provide reassurance that for us, teaching dance to our lovely students is about more than learning steps to music. It’s about nurturing and supporting your child as a whole, encouraging their creativity, individuality and self-expression.

At the heart of what we do is a conscious intention to nurture and develop talent, while also inspiring a love and appreciation of many dance styles. Recognising every child is different, we celebrate achievements at every level, from Little Dancers to our Irish dancers competing on the world stage. At CM Dance you will find a commitment to providing a safe and positive environment where all students can feel empowered, comfortable and free to express themselves.
