Rise Up Kids Yoga & OT introduces a very special set of wellness based events to celebrate National Children’s Week 2023.

    The FLOW & GROW Parent and Child Mini Retreats!

    This 2 and a half hour indoor daytime 'Mini Retreat' for 7 to 12 year olds, run by an highly experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist and Accredited Children's Yoga Teacher, will work on building connection between you and your child through a wonderful range of 'Meaningful Fun' activities.

    Activities include and focus on:
    • connection games,
    • laughter,
    • relaxation,
    • breath-work,
    • heartfelt reflections,
    • afternoon tea
    and of course – YOGA!

    This time together will truly nourish each others souls and help them to FLOW & GROW together.

    If your child is aged 7 to 12 years old then please book a place at this retreat (numbers are listed to just 8 pairs) to join us at the Yoga Freedom Studio in Avondale Heights on Sunday October 22 from 1.00pm to 3.30pm for an amazing morning of real connection and fun.

    • Parents, you don't need to have any yoga experience and/or be flexible to do this retreat, but you do need to be playful, curious and open to fun! *
    • All mats, yoga props, wholesome food, art materials and a small gift are included in the cost and provided.
    • As the focus of the retreat is on one-on-one connection, only one child per adult.
    • Retreat cost includes both parent and child. Tickets are LIMITED to 8 pairs. Purchase ONE TICKET ONLY. The ticket fee includes BOTH CHILD AND ADULT (please ignore that it says per person at checkout). Put your child details as attending and your details as the parent.

    *Please note: The yoga movements in the retreat are aimed to be gentle and not too strenuous on your body. However, it is a physical activity so please be mindful of your movements during the session and work within your limits. Please also aware of any physical, medical (eg, blood pressure, chest pains etc) or mental conditions that may pose a risk to your or your child's health and safety and if necessary, seek medical advice before booking this session. Welcome to Rise Up Kids Yoga & OT (aka RUKYOT!).

This service aims to assist young people to learn skills that can help to help them deal with everyday moments in life and have fun all at the same time!

Rise Up Kids Yoga & OT run yoga programs and classes that teach healthy lifestyle habits and overall wellbeing through the mindful activity of Yoga, Yoga Therapy, breath work and other emotional regulation strategies.

RUKYOT practices values of 'Meaningful Fun' and 'Wellbeing'. When people have fun, feel safe and comfortable, they become curious, explore and learn. When people can apply their learnings, well researched and effective skills and strategies to help themselves, it's has a positive affect on their overall wellbeing.

Rise Up Kids Yoga is delivered by accredited and certified Children’s Yoga Teacher and highly experienced children’s Occupational Therapist Michelle Roberts.

Michelle has over 20 years of clinical experience as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and extensive knowledge and experience in child development and engaging children in activities. She is skilled in the design, implementation and adaptation of age appropriate activities that target and build children and teens physical, social, emotional, cognitive and overall wellbeing.

Michelle looks forward to sharing her knowledge and skills to create meaningful fun and important learning opportunities for your child to help guide them the ups and downs in life.

“Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.” Sometimes we can't avoid the puddles left by the storms, we need to go through them, so why not dance or do yoga in them?! :)
