Tanya Brooks Dance Academy was first established in 1994 and it has grown to become a highly successful and popular dance school with over 150 students attending dance classes each week.

Classes are run five days a week in a modern and spacious dance studio at West Epping Park Community Hall, cnr of Downing St and Dent St, Epping NSW (near Carlingford). Our Hip Hop and Jazz classes are held nearby at West Epping Uniting Church Hall, cnr Orchard St and Carlingford Rd, Epping NSW.

Tanya Brooks Dance Academy offers a wide variety of dance classes for children, both girls and boys, from the tender age of 3 years old. Classes are held during the school terms. Ballet exams are held mid year and the end of year is focused towards an “Annual Concert” involving the entire Academy. Costumes for the annual concert are hired to the students at a minimal fee.

Ballet exams are not compulsory but are strongly encouraged. In August 2020, a select number Tanya Brooks Dance Academy ballet students took their RAD Ballet Examination and Class Award Examinations with us, the average mark received was 79%, with many of these students receiving a Distinction (which is a score of 75% or higher – the highest award possible).

AVAILABLE CLASSES

★ Ballet – Royal Academy of Dance

Ballet Classes are available for children, both boys and girls from 3 years of age. Ballet classes at Tanya Brooks Dance Academy follow the RAD syllabus and offer classes from Pre-Primary through to Grade 8 Ballet.

★ Toddlers Class

Using a themeic approach our baby ballerinas discover basic dance concepts in a fun environment through music and movement. Children develop skills such as co-ordination, musicality, listening, fine and gross motor control and spatial awareness.

★ Hip Hop

Hip Hop Classes are available for children from 6 years of age. There will be 4 levels of Hip Hop classes available in 2021, each level becoming a little harder and more skillful.

★ Contemporary

Contemporary Classes are available for children from 8 years of age. There are 6 levels of classes available, each level becoming a little harder and more skillful.

★ Tap

There is 1 x Tap class available per week, suitable for students 11yrs & up with previous experience. We do not hold exams for tap, we focus on teaching the children a variety of tap steps throughout the year which is then put together into a routine for the end of year Dance Concert.

★ Jazz

Jazz classes are available for children from 6 years of age. There will be 4 levels of classes available in 2021, each level becoming a little harder and more skillful.

All teachers at TBDA have been screened and have a valid and current Working With Children Check.
