THEME: Preparing to take on the world!
Here, we take the next step in developing their physical and technical skills, in a fun, 75-minute session.
Groups are small, with a maximum child-to-coach ratio of 9:1. This ensures that all children get the opportunity for individual feedback.
Each week, children will further develop their ball mastery, and cover a key skill, such as:
•First touch and passing
•Running with the ball
•1v1’s
•Shooting
As the children are more able to grasp teamworking principles, the emphasis shifts slightly away from individual skills - as in the Venus Group - to incorporate more first touch, passing and teamworking skills.
They’ll also have the chance to show off their skills in a small-sided game at the end!
Just before the game, we’ll take a short break to focus on their wider development. Inspired by the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) model, there’ll be a quick activity around one or two of the 5 areas of social and emotional learning:
•Self-awareness
•Self-management
•Social awareness
•Relationship skills
•Responsible decision-making
