- APPROX AGES: 4 to 7
THEME: Individual skills, plus beginning to understand themselves and their world.
Here, we take the next step in developing their physical and technical skills, in a fun, 60-minute session.
Groups are small, with a maximum child-to-coach ratio of 9:1. This ensures that all children get the opportunity for individual feedback.
Each week, children will further develop their ball mastery, physical literacy, and cover a core technical skill, such as:
•First touch and passing
•Running with the ball
•1v1’s
•Shooting
As children are relatively ego-centric at this stage of their development, slight emphasis will be placed on individual skills, such as running with the ball, and 1v1's.
They’ll also have the chance to show off their skills in a small-sided game at the end!
Just before the game, we’ll take a short break to focus on their wider development. Inspired by the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) model, there’ll be a quick activity around one or two of the 5 areas of social and emotional learning:
•Self-awareness
•Self-management
•Social awareness
•Relationship skills
•Responsible decision-making
