Overview

SHAKE SHAKE THEATRE invites you to a Kamishibai workshop. What is a Kamishibai? It is literally a “paper theatre” in Japanese. A form of storytelling that combines a set of illustrated paper cards paired with a scripted performance by a narrator.

The workshop will consist of 3 parts. First, Shake Shake Theatre will tell some stories with their Kamishibai. Then, all the participants will make their own paper kamishibai and the picture cards to animate it. Finally, everyone will tell the stories they have invented using the theatre they have made. Everything created during this workshop can be taken home by the participants.
