MUSIC THERAPY


Is the use of music and musical elements by a therapist to promote, maintain, and restore mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.


Music has nonverbal, creative, structural, and emotional qualities.


Therapists assess emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills through musical responses; design music sessions for individuals and groups based on client needs using music improvisation, receptive music listening, song writing, lyric discussion, music.


ART THERAPY


Is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Art therapy is a treatment process which offers a safe, contained and supportive place, where clients can express and explore their thoughts and feelings by using art materials –paint, pencils, charcoal, clay, collage ect in the presence of a qualified art therapist. Appropriate for all ages and a number of conditions.


DANCE & MOVEMENT THERAPY


Dance has been fundamental to human life and culture since the time of our earliest ancestors; a form of self-expression, communication and celebration of life and community. Dance/ movement therapy is the therapeutic use of movement and dance to further the emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of the individual. It is based on the empirically supported premise that the body, mind and spirit are interconnected. Dance movement therapy combines the creative process and the study of human movement.


DRAMA THERAPY


Is the use of theatre techniques to facilitate personal growth and promote mental health. Drama therapy is used in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, schools, mental health centers, prisons, and businesses. Drama therapy is active and experiential. This approach can provide the context for participants to tell their stories, set goals and solve problems, express feelings, or achieve catharsis.
