About the provider

Props Theatre is a progressive drama program of 1 hour weekly classes which includes; improvisation techniques for theatre, mime essentials, soundtrack art, various scripted plays and specialised training in voice work for performance.

The program rewards commitment to the program and supports students to reach their individual goals for ages 5 - 21 within our regular program. Our program has a real focus on verbal communication, developing speech skills in every lesson.

Each lesson is full of laughter, new skills and many students thrive on the fresh friend base being in a drama class with students of different schools. We always have fun and the classes have a respectful and positive attitude towards involvement, accepting others creativity and being professionals on the stage at the end of the year at the Capital Theatre, Bendigo.

Props Theatre focuses on respectful, safe spaces for students to learn and explore their own creativity and grow their confidence.

⭐ Stage One

These classes work on basic stage skills, verbal development, creative story telling, social and audience relationships and creating confidence as a public speaker and performer.

⭐ Stage Two

A space to build on existing skills, establish and refresh new ones with a higher level of detail towards responsibilities towards script work. At this age the students are challenged with creating original work as well as learning bigger pieces for strong character development.

⭐ Stage Three

AGE 13 - 16 (YEAR 7 - 10)

Building on established skills or supporting the development of the basics students are introduced to monologues, duologues and in depth characterisation. Improvisation is used as an acting technique for story development and script writing. Students explore theatrical techniques within performance.

⭐ Stage Four

AGE 16 - 21

Students are put into the seats of the makers, creators and guided through the decision process in creating theatre for an audience with script interpretation and self devised methods. A class for exploring drama styles and elements to develop deeper characters, script writing and directing skills.

Performance skills are not just for the stage but for everyday life.
