- WAVES KIDS CAMPS
Open to intermediate to advanced surfers. Kids must have their own surfboard & wetsuit to join this camp, and must be able to paddle onto and ride a green wave by themselves.
The primary focus of the camps is improving surfing and ocean safety. Mixed with a loads of fun, laughter and life time memories.
Camps run with 10min-18max children per trip.
Appropriate for 10-14 years.
WHERE WE GO
Camps are held in the Seal Rocks / Pacific Palms area, approx 4 hours drive north of Sydney. This region offers a range of surf beaches, that work in different wind and swell conditions - so no matter what the weather, we are guaranteed to be able to surf. Some of the beaches surfed at include - Seal Rocks Number 1, Blueys, Boomerang, Lighthouse, Seven Mile and Elizabeth.
HOW WE GET THERE
THE WAVES BUS
- 20 seat Toyota Coaster
Drop Off Day 1
- 9am (Bronte)
- 10am (Lindfield)
Pick Up Day 4
- 4pm approx (Lindfield)
- 5pm approx (Bronte)
WHERE WE STAY
Nestled amongst the Booti Booti National Park, accomodation is cabin style. The Cabins are a 2 minute walk to Elizabeth Beach.
WHAT WE EAT
Delicious, healthy meals are on the menu all weekend.
We cater for Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Pork Free and Lactose Intolerant diets.

NB Not all activities are undertaken on every camp. The activities are dependent on Mother Nature's mood, and the energy and requests of the group.
THE SURFING
- All kids will learn about:
- Surf and water safety
- Reading the waves
- Rips & banks
- Duck diving & eskimo roles
- Board retrieval & recovery
- Wipeout techniques
WAVES SURF SCHOOL
Established in 1999, Waves Surf School has offered Adventure Surf Camps and Day Trips out of Sydney for over 20 years.
Owned and operated by Dean "Deano" Dunstone, this father of two teenagers is a qualified surf instructor, professional skater & actor, landscape designer and horticulturalist.
With an amazing rapport with children of all ages, safety is his main priority, yet fun is undoubtedly what he exudes.
Waves have run School Surf Camps with schools such as Barker College, Outdoor Education Group, German International School Sydney, Bridigine College, Brighton Grammar and Haileybury College.
Waves Kids Camp staff all have their Working With Children Check.

*50% refund or 85% credit on cancellations made > 14 days prior to activity - 100% transfer available
*No refund or credit available for cancellations made <14days prior to activity - 100% transfer to another child available

My 12 yo had an awesome time. The organisation was pretty slick, communication was excellent and bad weather options were enjoyable! I think my son is angling for a camping trip next!
Hi Alison, the next overnight camp will be in the Winter Holidays. (The odd easter weekend interrupted this holiday's option!) We hope he can join out day trips over Autumn though.
